Endoscopic suspension of bladder neck in stress urinary incontinence


Abstract
Endoscopic needle suspension of bladder neck is a acceptable procedure for the treatment of the true stress urinary incontinence, and is associated with a high success rate and little morbidity. I experienced that 21 patients treated with the endoscopic needle suspension-of bladder neck and . combined anterior colporrhaphy between 1985 and 1988. The. surgical technique of endoscopic needle suspension of bladder neck was modified by author and introduced in this literature. This operative technique resolved the incontinence in 20 of 21 patients (95. 2 percent) and a patient recurred postoperatively in 2 years later. Transient urinary retention occur ed in 4 of 21 patients (19 percent ),, but the intermittent catheterization controlled it. I conclude that the endoscopic needle suspension of bladder neck is a effective method t treat stress urinary incontinence and the combination of anterior colporrhaphy may be controver
